Blockchain Goes Global

It could be argued that blockchain is boring and useless. It is just one of many databases and is not yet very good or very fast or very scalable, however what it does, it does very well. Where authenticity is critical, blockchain will become transformative, which gets you to things like global clearance, the global supply chain, health care, and aerospace. How will we get there? We think it will take an open model to build out the protocols and will require ‘coopetition’ between and across industries, and around the world.

Keynote: The Hyperconnected Supply Chain

Supply chain is the heart of company’s operations, yet it’s a pervasive challenge to manage an increasingly complex multi-enterprise processes and the legacy technologies thwart the end-to-end data visibility. Blockchain is a capability to harness the new backbone of supply chain, interconnecting many parts of information including your proprietary data from EDI, ERP, IoT sensors and public data, that fuels predictive analytics, process automation and delivers more value to your customers.

Taking Blockchain Beyond the Science Project; Applications for SCM with IoT-enabled Blockchain

There is a lot of buzz around blockchain and a multitude of ways to apply this new and exciting technology. Some say it will change the world and it’s a massive science project that is just getting off the ground. The fact is, there are many proof-of-concepts but very few use cases with purpose-built applications for enterprises that have been implemented. In order for these new applications for supply chain management to successfully leverage both blockchain and IoT technologies, they need to inherit performance at scale, operational resilience, security, supportability and operations while seamlessly integrating with existing enterprise applications. Learn how Oracle has focused in on supply chain management and applied its industry expertise, development resources and infrastructure to offer purpose-built applications to achieve traceability and authenticity in end-to-end supply chains using blockchain and IoT.
