Dr. Zhang is Wanchain’s VP of Engineering and one of the leading voices in the development of crosschain standards. In addition to designing Wanchain’s crosschain infrastructure, Dr. Zhang serves as the Regional Head of China for the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and is co-chair of their Crosschain Interoperability workgroup. He also teaches smart contract development at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Zhang has extensive research and development and engineering experience in blockchain, cognitive sciences, computational fluid dynamics, software modelling, computer technologies, and industrial standards. He has published over thirty research and technical papers and has over twenty patents, granted and pending, in computer and digital technology. For more than a decade, he was a principal software engineer at Dell. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
