After 20 years in senior roles in trading, capital markets and markets, Niall left banking in 2007 to join Markit and learn the data business, creating and selling commercial-grade digital and data products.
When he joined HSBC in 2010, his trading and business technology expertise was to put to immediate use in his leadership of the Group’s credit trading division. He remained a non-executive director of Markit until 2013.
In 2014 he led HSBC’s Markets business in EMEA, before being appointed Global Head of Corporate and Institutional Digital in July 2016 to lead the bank’s flagship programme, Digital Transformation for Corporates (DTC).
In collaboration with two of HSBC’s four global businesses – Commercial Banking and Global Banking and Markets – Niall’s team identified, developed and delivered digital solutions using the next generation of technologies. For more than 125,000 customers across 53 markets, the programme has revolutionised the banking experience and capabilities, bringing real benefits to real businesses.
