Ms. Leontien Hasselman-Plugge has over 16 years of experience in the field of sustainability and impact measurement. Trained in business and international environmental law, she started her career at the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP).
She worked for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for ten years, specializing in measuring non-financial performance and impact in global supply chains. In 2009 she became a LEAD Fellow by completing the LEAD Europe Leadership for Sustainable Development Program. Leontien has trained many companies in understanding, measuring, improving and communicating CSR performance working primarily in the US, Australia, India, Brazil, and China. She has traveled a lot and has seen that real, inclusive change can and needs to happen in producing countries.
Currently, as the CEO of SIM, her main aim is helping retailers and brands in the FMCG sector understanding their supply chains and using these insights to create change in environmental and social conditions.
