Sarvi Banisadr currently works as a self-employed advisor & consultant for tech-enabled start-ups with a focus on healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance and innovative technologies. She also is a global speaker on these topics. Prior to that, she founded Holding Your Hand, a healthtech-start-up which seeks to empower patients with the support of remote patient advocates (Medical Navigators). With this work she secured a contract at a leading global asset manager, subsequently leveraging her
experience into other Med-Tech start-ups, holding roles such as Chief Medical Officer. Before founding her own start up, Sarvi practised general surgery for more than 15 years, particularly in colorectal and breast cancer management. She currently holds an honorary contract with St Mark’s Hospital. Sarvi holds a First Class Genetic Engineering degree in Biomedical Sciences with Mathematics (Probability and Statistics), is Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Distinction from King’s College London and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Sarvi has a special interest in behavioural data, ethical use of data, regulation and compliance, with particular focus on how technology
can be a facilitator enabling fair exchange of consumer data for services. With this in mind she is a global speaker in blockchain and healthcare emphasising the importance of respecting centuries of medical ethics: how privacy and respect for individual freedom and choice needs to, in her opinion, via Health-Tech enter big data.
