Charles acts on credit finance matters with an emphasis on technology, telecoms and finance.
He is a leading expert on digital money, the law of bank payments and blockchain technology. He sits on the Bank of England Financial Markets Law Committee on Virtual Currencies and chairs a panel at the Tomorrow’s Transactions (Digital Money) Forum.
He is a Leading Individual in the Legal 500: “clients praise the ‘technically excellent’ Charles Kerrigan”, “insightful, clever and well-connected”.
Charles is the author of TMT Finance Law and Practice, Butterworths, First Edition 2016 and the “Security over Intellectual Property” section of Practical Lending and Security Precedents, Sweet & Maxwell, December 2017.
He is a member of the Advisory Boards of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence (APPG AI), the All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain (APPG Blockchain) and of the Innovators Board of the Big Innovation Centre.
He is the UK representative for the European Commission Open Method of Co-ordination on creative industries access to finance. He is acknowledged in the UK Intellectual Property Office’s IP Finance Toolkit.
