Binny brings over 20-years sectoral, functional, and geographical experience across the three key Energy and Carbon intensive sectors (Energy (Power, Renewables, and Oil and Gas); Transport; and Cities & Buildings), working with C-Suite stakeholders on policy, strategy, and financing. Her current work focuses on ‘Nexus’ approach driving Electrification-Decarbonization-Digitization of industry value chains (e.g. Energy and Transportation/ Urban development/ Agriculture/ Food/ Water) leveraging emerging technologies to accelerate innovations in the evolving infrastructure architecture, globally. She has also held Leadership roles working on concepts, use-cases, and aligning business-technology strategy leveraging Internet-of-Things, Big-Data, Blockchain, AI/VR, etc for impact investing and developed smart grid, smart cities, and intelligent mining and transportation.
For last decade, she has been working in Africa with the World Bank and African Development Bank identifying, preparing, and financing infrastructure PPP projects for multi-sectoral objectives and cross-cutting SDG outcomes (Gender, Climate Change, and Jobs/Business linkages). As a Director (Fund manager) in Climate-KIC (EU Commission), she allocated funding for innovative climate-financing solutions. She has also held Leadership roles in Shell, BP Oil, and Frost & Sullivan. Binny started her career in India, as an Architect designing sustainable-self-contained towns and using passive building elements for Govt. of India.
She holds a Ph.D in Strategy & Policy (& an MBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and Bachelors in Architecture with. She has lived and worked across all continents (EU, Asia, Africa, LatAm, US, including India and China). She is driven by her passion for Sustainable ecosystems and equitable growth.
